Family Promise is a community-based approach, engaging both
the local community, as well as houses of faith in the effort to combat family homelessness. Guests in our program receive a full complement of resources, support, and services as they work toward their own stability and self-reliance.

We believe that no child should have to sleep in a car, in a park, or under a bridge, and that every family deserves a chance to be whole and have a roof over their head again.
The first Family Promise program began in 1986 in Union City, NJ, after Karen Olson noticed a need in her community and turned to places of worship to form the first Interfaith Hospitality Network. There are now more than 200 networks in 42 states across the U.S.
